VALORANT Packet Loss: Calculator & Connection Test Log

Record a baseline before changing a connection setting. This VALORANT packet-loss worksheet turns counts and optional round-trip-time samples into a consistent summary, then saves a comparison log you can download. It is useful when you already have observations and want a clearer record for your own tests or a support request.

Source review: 19 October 2026. The examples below are invented arithmetic examples, not measurements of Riot servers or performance promises.

Packet-loss calculator and session log

Enter your own counts from one observation window. This tool summarizes manual input; it does not contact Riot servers or read game logs. Your entries stay in this browser session and clear when the page reloads.

Up to 30 entries per session. Download before reloading. Packet-loss percentage is rounded to three decimals; the original counts remain visible.

    Keep the observation window consistent

Use sent and lost counts from the same endpoint, protocol and time interval. If your current game display provides only a percentage, keep that percentage in your notes; do not invent packet counts to reproduce it here. Give each record a phase: baseline, one candidate change, or restored conditions.

Microsoft documents that Windows ping uses ICMP echo messages. Those observations describe that test and destination; they do not establish the loss rate of VALORANT’s own traffic. Record the origin of the numbers alongside the downloaded CSV so a later comparison remains meaningful.

Read the calculation without over-interpreting it

The loss calculation is lost / sent ร— 100. For example, 10 lost out of 1,000 sent is 1%. The same percentage over a short and a long observation does not provide the same amount of evidence. Compare observation duration and sample count as well as the percentage.

Optional RTT input produces a median, a nearest-rank P95 and the sample range. The P95 is the sorted sample at position ceil(0.95 ร— sample count), counting from one. With four invented samples of 20, 22, 21 and 90 ms, the median is 21.5 ms and P95 is 90 ms. A small sample makes this percentile coarse. The range is the largest minus the smallest sample; it is not a standardized network-jitter measurement.

Use a baseline, candidate and restored comparison

    1. Observe the original setup and record the test interval, destination or game region, symptom and connection type.
    2. Choose one relevant change and keep the remaining conditions as similar as practical.
    3. Repeat the same observation and add the candidate summary.
    4. If practical, return to the original condition and record a restored summary. A difference that fails to repeat needs more investigation.

A lower number in one session does not identify the cause or prove that a change fixed it. Keep full-game observations separate from a short OS test and avoid combining unrelated measurements into one row.

Follow the relevant publisher troubleshooting path

Riot’s PC connection guide, displaying 16 May 2026, recommends beginning with wired connectivity, restarting network equipment and reducing competing traffic. It distinguishes connection symptoms from low frame rate and stuttering. Use its linked procedures for later network or software changes, and provide logs through Player Support when needed.

The developer team’s 24 May 2022 explanation of latency and buffering gives background on why perceived delay can involve more than one number. It is historical technical context, not a statement about the current patch or a guaranteed diagnosis of your connection.

Can zero recorded packet loss explain every hitch?

No. Zero loss in the observations entered here says only that those observations recorded none. Frame timing, buffering and a different measurement interval can require a separate investigation. Record what you measured before choosing the next troubleshooting path.
